Does not pay for any items accepted.
Compressed gas cylinders (fire extinguishers, propane, oxygen, helium, etc.) - Accepts propane (BBQ, camp stove, etc.) cylinders only. DOES NOT ACCEPT any other types of compressed gas cylinders: fire extinguishers, oxygen, helium, etc.
Electronics - Only accepts cell phones, computers, computer monitors, printers, DVD players, TVs, VCRs, speakers and other small electronics.
Glass - No TVs, mirrors, light bulbs, windshields/safety glass, fiberglass, or these glass-like items: ceramic, china, porcelain, milk glass, Pyrex, Corningware, Corelle.
Hazardous Waste:
- Leavenworth, Kans. residents only.
- No appointment required.
- Accepts waste from businesses that are Small Quantity Generators. Businesses include: for-profits, nonprofits, churches, schools, home-based businesses, and rental property owners. More info>>
- Does NOT accept: asbestos, biological waste, controlled substances, explosives, prescription drugs, medical waste, and smoke detectors.
Holiday lights - Do not accept lights embedded in artificial trees and greenery.
Holiday trees - Natural holiday trees and greenery. Must remove all plastic and metal components such as lights, decorations, plastic bags and stands. Accepted Dec. 1, 2023 – Jan. 31, 2024 only.
Large appliances - Provides refrigerant removal from dehumidifiers, air conditioners, freezers, refrigerators, etc.
Lawn mowers - All fluids must be completely drained.
Plastic Bags and Film:
The following types of bags and film are NOT recyclable:
• Salad bags
• Snack bags & wrappers (chips, candy, etc.)
• Pouches (cheese, tuna, trail mix, etc.)
• Foil coffee bags
• Frozen food bags
• Pet food bags
• Floral wrap (cellophane)
• Cling wrap
• Bedding & garment bags (usually clear with zipper)
• Landscape bags (fertilizer, mulch, topsoil, etc.)
Tires - Accepted for a fee.
