  • Accepts anything that plugs into a wall, or takes batteries.
  • Fees may apply for some items, including televisions, CRT monitors, magnetic media, ink/toner cartridges and more. Please visit their website for fees and a complete list of items.
  • Recycles alkaline batteries, magnetic media (VHS tapes, cassette tapes, floppy disks), and optical discs (CDs/DVDs) for $1.00 per pound.
  • Offers certified refrigerant removal from large appliances (fees may apply).
  • Holiday lights are accepted all year.
  • Does not accept: thermostats, smoke detectors, lithium batteries, or fluorescent light bulbs.
  • Does not accept Stryofoam that has had any contact with food or beverages including takeout boxes, cups, egg cartons and meat trays.

Free to all residents in the Kansas City metro area (you do not have to live in Kearney), except yard waste drop off which is for Kearney residents only. Does not pay for any items accepted.

Please recycle right:

  • Plastic - Only recycle bottles and tubs with resin codes #1, #2, #4, #5.
  • Keep items loose (do not put in bags or boxes).
  • Rinse containers, do not crush.
  • Flatten boxes.
  • No food or liquids
  • Put caps and lids back on plastic bottles and tubs.
  • Remove shrink sleeves from plastic bottles.
  • Collect metal caps and lids in steel/tin can and squeeze shut before recycling.
  • Leave labels on containers, tape on boxes, windows on envelopes, staples and paper clips on paper.

    Glass - No TVs, mirrors, light bulbs, windshields/safety glass, fiberglass, or these glass-like items: ceramic, china, porcelain, milk glass, Pyrex, Corningware, Corelle.

    Holiday Trees - Natural holiday trees and greenery only. Remove lights, decorations, plastic bags and stands. Accepted Dec. 26, 2023 - Jan. 10, 2024 only.
