Recycling cans, paper, cardboard and glass is free to all residents in the Kansas City metro area (you do not have to live in Excelsior Springs).
Does not pay for any items accepted.
Compressed gas cylinders (fire extinguishers, propane, oxygen, helium, etc.) - NOT accepted.
Glass - No TVs, mirrors, light bulbs, windshields/safety glass, fiberglass, or these glass-like items: ceramic, china, porcelain, milk glass, Pyrex, Corningware, Corelle.
Holiday trees - Natural trees and greenery only. Remove all lights, decorations, plastic bags, and stands. Place in designated dumpster starting Dec. 26 through Jan. 31.
Large appliances - All CFCs (refrigerant gases) must be removed from freezers, refrigerators, air conditioners and dehumidifiers by certified refrigerant reclaimers before being recycled.
Lawn mowers - Must be completely drained of all fluids.
