Recycling cans, paper, cardboard, and plastic (bottles, tubs, and jars) is free to all residents in the Kansas City metro area (you do not have to live in Harrisonville).

Compressed gas cylinders (fire extinguishers, propane, oxygen, helium, etc.) - Must be completely empty with valve removed.
Glass - No TVs, mirrors, light bulbs, windshields/safety glass, fiberglass, or these glass-like items: ceramic, china, porcelain, milk glass, Pyrex, Corningware, Corelle.
Large appliances - Refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, and dehumidifiers must have refrigerant removed by an EPA-approved refrigerant removal service first. Must provide paperwork that this service has been performed. Search RecycleSpot for certified refrigerant removal.
